6.21.2010 . 6.27.2010

There were a fresh and different feelings on this Monday, when I opened my bedroom's windows and saw the view. It was a beautiful morning, little cloudy, sun was shining with golden rays, hiding behind the clouds. This romantic weather and beautiful landscape, I was going to miss. I reached office little early, to pack personal stuff, and take printouts.

Most of my colleagues were updated with my departure date, so we started talking from the very beginning of the office (morning). All chatting was about, how was past, old and new teams, at Pune. These days many people left IBM; so, it was kind of regular talk.

Tuesday and Wednesday, we went for team lunches, bought shrek's family toys from McD. My mind was heavily working to store all the last days memories, as it was really tired on my last night at Pune.

I got "best of luck" from managers, hugged buddies, shook hands with colleagues on the last evening at Pune's office, and I left office at 8 PM.

When you grew older, changing places/home doesn't pressurize your heart to beat fast. In childhood, you are full with emotions, or feeling and affections. But sometime, when you leave a family (tivoli Pune, as for me), you can feel the depth of your heart.

Tuesday morning, a call from kingfisher, woke me up, it (flight) was delayed 4 and 1/2 hours, so I did rest more and spent more time with friends, who came to my flat. The final time came, and we left for the airport.

Pune's weather was very pleasant that day, breeze were blowing, little cloudy, and small green landscapes.

During the flight, it was on the Aravaly mountain ranges, our fight made 3 circles (waited for landing), as a sand storm was hitting Delhi airport. The view from sky of these hills were astonishing, while you were tilted a little along with the plane.

Again, with 1 hr delay, I reached to Delhi, took a Bus, and reached my hometown in night, it was a HOT and humid day at NCR.

At my home, there were relatives and neighbors gathering, as my grandma passed away. In India/North we spend 12 days performing some rituals when a death occur in a family.

In one of them, we (Hometown's Jats) consecrate 'asthiyan'(bones) to the Ganges, at Gadhmukteshwar, Near Hapur. I was there on bank of Ganges, early morning, on 27th June, Monday morning. When we reached to 'Ghat', it was started raining with heavy lightening for 10-12 mins. It seemed that Ma Ganga was calling with open hands.

After this ritual we left to Home.

6.14.2010 . 6.20.2010

After a long Sunday night, actually when it rains, you love so much to be in bed for a long time; I woke up late. Monday’s plan was to make preparations of shifting to Gurgaon and as of for office, waiting for Bugs to fix, if they are opened. It was raining out side, and we were watching it through office big windows along with a cup of Tea. Simulating of a camp with nothing to do, just wait there, and look around.

Tuesday, it was all day raining. Some employees reached office mostly wet. And in Men’s washroom, they were in queue for drier. To avoid this wet working style, we should keep spare pants at office if we are riding bikes, in rainy season.

We gave our daily ‘cs’ tournament a break for a while, as we needed to leave early. As it is not possible all the time to use office as fun place. ;)
I made my reservation to Delhi, for first week of July. The date was finalized, now the time was to celebrate last few weeks in Pune, so we did nothing. (It was raining) Doing nothing sometime help us to understand what have done to us, not what we have done.
I left the office early, to go to RTO Pune. It is ridicules, this Indian Government, why we have to register the vehicle for a particular state only. What troubles people have to face, who are living near state’s borders. There are so many organization helping out people, should take this issue too, seriously. In future, we may have one Indian vehicle registration, but as of now we need to pay at least 900/- for just NOC through agent.

Wednesday, Thursday, it was all same, sit and watched clear sky after 4 days of raining, made some contribution to office/work too, likewise fixed some bugs.
We planned our product release party, to Mumbai SL world, 2nd July. A team was built to organize this event. In IBM, a team, is more emphasized when it comes to complete a work assignment and an individual, when it comes to distribute money.

For this week, the final day arrived, and still there was nothing interesting at office/life to look into. Some tired faces were wandering in cubical to wait till evening and some were waiting to get ‘Star Of The Week’ awards in evening. This ‘FunFriday’.... hmmmm, I don’t remember what happened as I left early from office. But there were some football related events.
When your office is shifted in new location in same city, and the new location is as far as at lest 30kms, you are in pain of moving. In IT cities, only rent is hiked not the salary, in past few years. The brokers and House owner see IT people as Gold or some kind of begs full of money, which they think, these IT people don’t deserve. So, you are surprised to hear, what they are asking for an empty flat.
One point I would like to stress that we, some IT morons, pay whatever brokerage is asked to pay. It is not legal and seriously I am going to take some action against these in Gurgaon there, if I face some. I request you all to have a receipt at least of whatever brokerage you have paid, so we, some freak people like me,  can take actions against this monopoly.
Saturday, I got the Bike NOC, went to visit a relative in Bajaj Auto Plant in Pune. It was first plant Bajaj established. It was like a small city in countryside, when it was build, but now, the PCMC city approached with very rapid constructions. I felt like, I was wandering in my college for a while, with the open area, playgrounds, and high trees.
These days I started playing ‘World of Warcraft’ a top Multiplayer game, DotA. This is really amazing game with so many actions and Heroes, made this game to reach the top of the world.
This Sunday evening, I rescheduled the plan to leave Pune, coz of an emergency at Home.  It is now 24th June, just 4 more days to go.

6.7.2010 . 6.13.2010

What an optimistic answer one can get from a coding engineer of this question; "What will happen, if earth starts rotating 30 times faster ?" "we can get salary everyday !! [with smile]".

Lest week the code was froze, so this Monday, it was 11 AM when I reached office, and surprisingly I was first. People came and soon after we went for lunch outside "Ghar ka Khana" restaurant. We scheduled some training session for new team members and played CS; thus first time after so long, we spent Monday happily after.

I was enrolled in a training, for next couple of days, "7 Habits of Highly effective people", and soon after the start I came to know that I was there to just learn the 7th one "Sharpen the saw". Mean, make each habit regular.

It is relaxing for any employee to attend the training sessions.  Only you need to have discussions of the topics. Your opinions are listened to those, who were thinking about what they are going to say on their turn at same time :) .

I fixed all rest, small bugs till Thursday morning. We played cricket with "stress bust" ball in cubical area, and made other people noticed that we were relieved now.

"The assumptions, wrong expectations, and unclear conversations are key factor of weakening a great team." More they occur, more cracks in the wall of unity. So, its All take to build team, and very few takes to make individuals. I just wanted to share some thoughts of my mind, please don't take this seriously. Actually, sometimes we feel that we are clever then philosophy writers; so on to be grounds, we should vomit these kind of thought. (That's what I did in above scripture.)

Thursday, its was boring, as we had very less work. And just a wild thought came to my mind, why donkey is so boring when it has no work to do. Here I am not talking about donkey's feeling, I am talking about what it does, when it has not actual work.

How ironic it is, "we hate the work which we do regular basis in software offices, and when we have nothing, even for one day, it feels empty."

I heard this line from a movie that There is a very fine/thin line/wall between "what you hate" and "what you love" in your mind. What makes these two spaces very nearby is that your constant thinking about that thing/person.So, if you can't make to love you the person you want, you can try other way. Kidding, please don't try this up-proven method.

We went a team party, better my "leaving Pune" party in the evening. Some friend drunk; I can understand their feeling, and those too, who didn't. Great Hindi thinkers were asked by rest, one asked the meaning of "Handsome" in Hindi and amazingly there were no answers.

Friday morning, we did some work. Talked to children of colleagues, who bring them to office to show how hard they work :). Actually this Friday wad 'Kids Day'. Watched them played in cubical, making paintings, talking to another kid. It felt like, even I don't remember, how I might have made friends, in my childhood.

Fun-Friday, we played shouting antakshri, win the rally running competition wearing a sack.

It was raining in evening, First time this mansoon, I reached home completely wet. With this raining, I can move forward to the new season of my life, the new location.....

5.30.2010 . 6.6.2010

This Monday was different. On this day there will be more employees in office then the number of cubicals. So, I woke up early, rushed to the office to get a good corner in office. This was surprise to those, who didn't know and came late and most of new joinees. They forced to sit in between two cubicals [3 persons in 2 seats]. And this arrangement blow up a little privacy in office, which was visiting social networking sites or chatting on gtalk :)

This will continue till another floor is ready to move in. Now, it won't be a problem for me, as I am assigned a good location.

Just after location issue fixed, we need to fix the buggy code. And the team wished for "Code freeze" to be done, before opening the email containing the subject of 'code freeze' from release manager. And again date moved to Friday. (तारीख पर तारीख)

We too had a celebration as B'Day party. And we all reached 'on schedule' for lunch as 'on schedule' was in our blood, due to the weekly status injection we take every week [;)]

The lunch at Mezza9, was good. Under the influence of unknown background music,  we talked about a movie "Gunda, the epic". This movie has out-standing rhythmic dialog and stand alone in its own particular class. (Beware before making wish to watch !!)

We talked about, how a code/product would behave if it has been written by managers. A good example was severed by our manager, like any installer having only 'Next' buttons (No 'Back'), and the argue will be "why you want to go back, if you have already chosen to go forward".

Tuesday, we planned to watch movie "Prince of Persia", with vodafone 1 ticket discount. The rain on that day, was nearly succeeded to stop us watching that movie, but we drove fast and broke some traffic rules to make it. There were tree fallen on the road, a car was totaled on the bridge, and traffic-jam. But will all this, we reached just 10-mins late ;).

Movie was full of awesome action scenes and sequences. I have played the Game already, so history was known to me; but still it was worth watching.

We are so tired of code freeze, so we played cricket in cubical area, drank many paid teas to distract mind away from code.

Next event was Fun-Friday. A lady employee told us to use things and save the environment. 'She' actually told us, "NOT to SHOP" and use the waste, not dump; to make envelops, cards, pen-holders, etc. My mind was hit by this Idea, not above but this, "how a lady/girl can say, NO to SHOP". I really want to see that DAY.

We played musical chair. Ate the snacks and came back to the CODE.

Saturday, there was plan to shop, but ultimately we reached "Bhajan Lal Ka Dhaba" on Dehu Road, Just before the "toll naka".

That was fun, small talks, and we listened to nearby collage group chat. A fellow was sick of not getting a girl and all other were consoling him.

Finally Sunday, I made some more steps towards Gurgaon movement. Bike NOC and Talked with Packers and movers.

So, mix of all the events, life is still running behind code, sorry something unknown to me.

"एक दिन, ये काफिले भी कही छूट जायेंगे "
"जिसका हर-पल इंतज़ार करने को कहता था दिल"
